But this is the eclectic group of people I met this evening. Eclectic and yet Unified in one mission - They are Die Hard Bryan Adams Fans!!
Now Ill admit, at first I was scared (Sorry Sherri). When a total stranger strikes up a conversation with you, tells you they just flew in from Pittsburgh USA this morning in the Hope of getting a ticket to this gig, her 47th time in 2 years and follows with 'I dont stalk him, I dont want to sleep with him' ' Just Be a fan'. And whats more she is meeting up with Elaine from Lythan St Annes in the UK (55 times in 23 years) Helen of Cambridge, 84 times in 8 different countries and Nadine whos a minnow on 14 (but proud as punch) plus two locals - Niall from Offally and Jacinta from Portlaoise with 39 between them.
However on second thoughts, whats wrong with finding something to give you a boost in life. With all the doom and gloom in the world is it really any harm to have something that can give you a break from the normality of everyday living. It seems to work for these guys. As I left after taking a snap of them, they wandered off into the Castlebar night with a smile beaming off their faces............. tomorrow Killarney........ no 48,56,85,15,21 and 20. And Sherri with a Kiss from her Idol in the Bag.
In contrast I came across a local resident leaving early with his partner. 'If the crowd weren't clapping he couldnt keep rhythm' he said. Followed by his partner thoughts That he (Bryan Adams - Aged 50) looked great for his age. .................Explaining her partners slightly disgruntled remarks a few seconds earlier.
Safe home Village People.
